　　皮埃尔（史蒂夫·布西密 Steve Buscemi 饰）已经是一位在火线诞生入死的战地记者，战争年月到来后，他则成为了一位在报社里朝九晚五的上班族。身份和职位的庞大转换让曾今见识过天下黑暗面的皮埃尔感应很不习惯，他的性该越来越急躁，身旁的朋友也越来越少。
　　在一次工作中，皮埃尔要采访的工具是名叫凯特雅（西耶娜·米勒 Sienna Miller 饰）确当红巨星，这类“普通”的使命让皮埃尔的心里愤愤不服，果不其然，在采访的进程中，皮埃尔和凯特雅之间发生了剧烈的争持，两人之间的关系非常严重。一次意外中，凯特雅的疏忽致使了皮埃尔受了伤，心中非常惭愧的凯特雅将皮埃尔接回了自己家中疗养，在此进程中，一对孤男寡女之间碰撞出了豪情的火花。
