　　“我”（菅貫太郎 饰）是一位电影导演，当前正在拍摄一部带有自传性质的影片，影片的情节以下：童年的“我”（高野浩幸 饰）生活在一个偏僻山村，与母亲过着孤独辛劳的生活。父亲晚年过世，“我”只能经过巫术叫出父亲的鬼魂与他对话。隔邻的少妇（八千草薫 饰）美艳动听，我深深为之沉迷。某日，一支活动马戏团来到“我”的村落，从他们的口中，“我”得知里面大千天下的出色。因而在某个夜晚，“我”和隔邻的少妇整理行囊，偷偷分开了故乡。
　　
　　影片停止到这里，“我”却忽然堕入瓶颈。那天，“我”碰到了童年的自己，藉着对童年时代的回溯，“我”发现影片中居然有着如此多的虚假和不实在。“我”找到了实在的曩昔，以及一切被决心忘记的残暴回忆……
