◎简　　介


　　为了探明日本列岛一系列的异常地壳活动情况，地球物理学者田所雄介博士（小林桂树 饰）与助手幸长信彦（泷田裕介 饰）乘坐小野寺俊夫（藤冈弘 饰）驾驶的潜艇出海考查。在小笠原群岛四周的海沟处，海底稀里糊涂的乱泥流令博士内心不安。经过对各方材料周密稳重的观察，田所博士作出一个震动全国甚至天下的猜测“由于地球变更，日本行将在两年之内完全沉入海底”。他的猜测开初并未获得政府的完全信赖，但是在此以后各地激烈地震相继爆发，休灭火山也重新喷发，局势正以出乎料想的速度恶化。在这个与世隔断的岛国，群众堕入史无前例的疯狂当中……
