　　1982年，英国传奇重金属乐队Spinal Tap摇滚乐团红极一时。电影导演马蒂（罗伯·莱纳 Rob Reiner 饰）是Spinal Tap乐团的一位忠厚粉丝。Spinal Tap乐团要来美国举行一次复出巡演，马蒂则为Spinal Tap乐团拍摄随行记载片。本部仿记载片决心诬捏出一个英国摇滚乐团Spinal Tap，活灵活现的刻画出了摇滚乐团台下台下内外纷歧的嘴脸，对今世摇滚乐做出了尖锐的嘲讽和嘲讽。
