　　泰德（基努·里维斯 Keanu Reeves 饰）和比尔（亚历克斯·温特 Alex Winter 饰）是就读于同一所高中的同学，两人之间豪情非常要好。也许，他们会如此一见仍旧的缘由在于，两人的智商处在同一水平线上，没错，就是那条比他人都低的水平线。更糟糕的是，比尔和泰德在一路只晓得全日游手好闲，丝绝不将心机放在进修上，成便不可思议。
　　历史考试在即，就在这个节骨眼上，泰德和比尔得知了一个惊天凶讯，假如不能经过此次考试，他们就将没法拿到结业证书，一会儿懵了的两人堕入了手足无措当中。就在此时，一位名叫鲁佛斯（乔治·卡林 George Carlin 饰）的天外来客出现在了他们眼前，他自称来自未来天下。不管鲁佛斯所言是真是假，泰德和比尔大白，他是他们那道结业证书的唯逐一根拯救稻草。
