　　年轻的女孩，Roby（Ashley Judd饰），在旅游旺季的时辰来到了弗罗里达州的一个度假村，她想在那边起头她全新的生活。她在那边的一家旅游纪念品商铺找到了一份营业员的工作，这家商铺是由Mildred Chambers经营的。Roby在那边的时辰和Mildred Chambers那成天不切现实地空想的儿子Ricky Chambers（Bentley Mitchum饰）约会，仿佛一对热恋中的爱人的样子。但当Ruby得知Ricky只把自己看成他的众多征服工具中的一个时，她绝不犹豫地和他分了手。后来，她又和Mike（Todd Field饰）坠入了爱河，Mike是一个右翼的暖房工人。随着时候的推移，渐渐的，Roby和方圆的人的关系以及她自己的心里都发生了天翻地覆的变化。期待着她的是各种艰难的挑选和繁重的发现。
