                                为了排解心中的愤激，鲁道夫微服出访子集市里散步，就此相逢了名为玛丽（凯瑟琳·德纳芙 Catherine Deneuve 饰）美丽少女。玛丽的一颦一笑都深深的感动着鲁道夫的心，他第一次体味到恋爱的滋味。鲁道夫想尽了方式要迎娶玛丽，可是无济于事。因而，鲁道夫决议和玛丽私奔，两人躲进了位于森林深处的猎人小屋里，他们约定一路度过一个甜蜜的夜晚，然后在第二天的朝阳当中双双殉情。
