◎简　　介
　　江户末期，已有250年不曾发生过战争，贫困的军人们，有人是以挑选分开藩属，成为流浪的军人或是游勇。都筑杢之进（池松壮亮饰）也是其中一位流浪的军人，他来到江户近郊的一户农家，帮手干活，调换食粮维生。为防自己的剑术日益陌生，他一方面逐日挥汗练习，一方面操纵木刀教授剑艺给农家郎弟市助（前田隆成饰）。市助的姊姊小优（苍井优饰）面临两人整天热衷於剑术，总是冷眼相待，却也和杢之进相互的情愫渐生。那光阴本因本国黑船来航，要求幕府竣事锁国政策，终年的承平之势，起头出现动汤。小优最担忧的工作莫过於杢之进前往中心介入骚乱，那暗示他和弟弟赔上人命的日子也逐步逼近。
