　　寺庙方丈的独生子井上广树是个酷好摄影的高中二年级门生，而母亲达子总是叮嘱他造作业、练钢琴，让他非常不耐心。他倾慕着隔邻女校的橘百合子，总鄙人学后用千里镜看她弹钢琴，因其寥寂的神气，广树将其称作“孤单人”。庙里大扫除的时辰，广树和朋友们不谨慎弄乱了母亲少女时代的照片。
　　
　　第二天，班上出现了一个希奇的女同学，绰号叫作“孤单人”。同学们到广树家玩，“孤单人”和达子发生吵嘴，希奇的是打了她，达子反而会感应疼痛。广树终究捉住机遇结识了百合子，两人相处甚欢。但是情人节那天，广树却收到了百合子要求分手的信。同时，“孤单人”也来造访向广树离别。两天后，达子在走廊上拣到一张自己16岁时的照片，广树一瞥之间竟发觉照片上的正是“孤单人”……
