　　村落小男孩班多一心想成为一位足球明星，就像来自喀麦隆的米拉那样给非洲群众带来了至高的声誉。虽然家境清贫，在为家里干农活的同时还要上学，班多还是决心自己赢利来买一个实在的足球。荣幸的是，他从一位女医生那边获得了一个礼物：一个旧的皮球。当阳光照耀在这个皮球上时，它看上去就像是一个金色的足球。班多很是爱好这个足球，把它看做是翻开另一个天下的钥匙。可是由于踢球却引发了一场火灾。班多逃离了故乡，为了展现他的足球天赋来到了几内亚都城科纳克里。在这里他临时阔别了足球而被迫以工作来谋生。在朋友的帮助下，他亲眼旁观了实在的足球角逐，并借机展现了他的足球技术。尔后，经过了足球黉舍的练习，班多终究在球场上证实了自己的足球天赋，虽然他的掮客人是经过不正当的手段才使他获得了参赛资历。
