◎简　　介

　　母亲离世，父亲买卖失利、疾病缠身，十六岁的荣子（若尾文子 饰）穷途末路，只好到祗园投靠母亲生前的艺妓姐妹美代春（木暮实千代 饰）去做见习艺妓。经过美代春的悉心培训，一年后，荣子成为了一位亭亭玉立的艺妓。终究到了荣子第一次接待客人的这一天，美代春领着荣子接待了两名客人——楠田和佐伯。后来美代春和荣子随着楠田到东京游玩，到达当晚在酒店内，楠田想与荣子发生关系，荣子不愿就范，在抵挡中咬伤了他。由于这件事，美代春和荣子的买卖大受影响，她们只得闲赋在家。饱受门庭萧瑟的荣子决议上门亲身道歉，而美代春得知后，急忙赶去替换了荣子。越日，荣子询问一夜未归的美代春能否为了自己而出售身材。美代春的一番话，让荣子学到了作为艺妓的一套人生哲学。
