　　曼莫（路易斯?费尔南多?佩纳 Luis Fernando Pe?a 饰）与怙恃生活在墨西哥小镇桑塔安那，靠务农为生。德里奥水公司在四周河流建坝拦水，至使全部地域严重缺水。高昂的水价致使穷途末路的农民去坝上偷水。德里奥水公司在美国境内的总部则雇佣飞翔员鲁迪（雅各布?维加斯 Jacob Vargas 饰）经过精神连线遥控操纵无人轰炸机冲击“可骇份子”庇护水坝，炸毁了曼莫的居处，曼莫的父亲被就地杀死。哀痛的曼莫分开故乡来到美墨边境城市蒂华纳找工作，碰见女作家鲁兹（莱诺?维埃拉 Lennor Varela 饰）。鲁兹帮曼莫装上“结点”，今后曼莫进入工场精神连线遥控操纵美国各地的机械人处置繁重的体力劳动。鲁兹为了延续出售曼莫的故事，与他的打仗慢慢加深，二人终究相爱。但收集另一边采办曼莫故事的人竟是鲁迪……
