　　斯坦尼斯公然公布再自己的画廊举行现代艺术展，展出的都是些外形、色彩和质地让人受惊的作品，也成为了媒体关注的焦点。艺术家吉尔伯特的雕塑作品也在其中展览，他妻子乔西被风格严厉的斯坦尼斯给迷住了，由于他把自己的闲余时候都花在了阿谁艺术品味怪异的公寓里搞摄影。但除了那些放大的书法字帖外，斯坦尼斯还收集了一大堆关于一个心理变态的人物的照片。那末乔西为什么要冒着与丈夫闹冲突的风险去病态地探讨斯坦尼斯的奥秘脸孔呢？
　　《女犯人》（La Prisonnière，1968）是克鲁佐最初一部作品，也是他初度拍摄且唯一的一部彩色电影。在一向悬疑的空气下探讨艺术家特异的情*档次，非论题材还是运镜在那时都相当的大胆前卫。完成此片后，1977 年1 月12 日克鲁佐在巴黎去世。
