　　1995年12月8日，一场突如其来的灾难袭向了家庭奇迹双自得总编吉恩?多米尼克?鲍比（Mathieu Amalric 饰）。他的脑干忽然中风，继而激发极为罕有、几率极低的闭锁症候群。罹患此症的吉恩满身瘫痪，只要左眼尚能自在活动。他描述自己就如同困在潜水钟里一般，身材被牢牢箍住，没法转动，而心灵却像蝴蝶一样在广漠的六合里自在翱翔。吉恩凭仗着左眼和顽强的意志以及语音改正师的辅佐，与天下做着无声的交换……
