　　1980年に早稲田文学賞を受賞した三石由起子の小説を、青春映画の旗头?藤田敏八監督が映画化。ヒロイン弓子役に田中美佐子が抜擢され、大胆なヌードも表露している。
　　
　　女子大生?弓子（田中美佐子）は、かねてから憧れていた予備校の中年講師?三村（山崎努）と酒を飲み、酔いつぶれて三村の愛人?和子（加賀まりこ）の部屋に行く。そこで弓子は三村に関る人がすべて傷ついていながら、それぞれの愛を終らせようとはしていないことを知るのだった。
　　
　　妻もあり、愛人もいる中年男との半同棲生活を送る女子大生の心理を淡々と描いているが、どちらかと言えば藤田監督の視点は前作『スローなブギにしてくれ』と同様、山崎努演じる中年男に向いている。そのせいか本作品に描かれたヒロイン像は、万人に共感を持って受け入れられるものではないだろう。最後に三村へ別れを告げる弓子の姿も、何やら遅れてきた女性の自立モノのようで、困惑を禁じ得ない。
