　　英国摄制的特务行动片，按照佛德烈．福赛的畅销小说改编，描写苏联的情报局计划展开一场惊天大诡计，目标是要摧毁北大西洋公约构造和英美两国的友爱关系。他们派出一位高级情报员乔装混入英国的一个小镇，伺机在当地的美军基地装配核弹加以破坏。迈克．凯恩饰演的英国特务侦破这个诡计，乃想方设法阻止奸计得逞。风趣的是饰演苏联特务的皮尔斯．布鲁斯南，往后却成为苏联特务的克星007。导演约翰．麦肯西处置氛围尚称松散，而雪窖冰天的外景则增加了戏戏院景的可看性。
