　　　　韩星（李连杰 饰）原本是香港的一位差人，但他的家属却掌管着美国一个华人犯罪团体，势力庞大。一次韩星为了替父亲顶罪，丢掉了工作，进入了香港的牢狱服刑。服刑时代，韩星忽然得知自己的亲生弟弟的死讯，悲痛不已的他成功逃狱前往了美国寻觅弟弟的灭亡真相。一切的人都告诉韩星，弟弟的死是和他们家属对峙的黑人帮派酿成的，但韩星却隐约感觉别有内幕，因而他展开了观察。时代，韩星熟悉了美丽的女孩特蕾西（阿丽雅 Aaliyah 饰），本来特蕾西正是对峙帮派的老迈的女儿。未几，特蕾西的哥哥也被人谋杀了，一样不相信四周的人都一面之词的特蕾西和韩星一路展开了观察。终极，他们发现，真相本来很残暴。
