　　30年月的香港，社局动乱，黑帮林立。香港富翁胡老头这日找到私人侦察哎吆（林子祥 饰），要求其观察胡太太，由于他感觉胡太太这些天表示希奇。哎吆观察后发现，本来是好人神父卡邦派（麦嘉 饰）人勾结上了胡太，意欲盗取胡老头代价连城的股票。他们这一计划遭哎吆撞破后，四周追杀哎吆。
　　
　　哎吆亡命之际，又发现了胡老头实在并非什么香港富翁，只是一位老千，他来香港的目标就是要骗卡邦等地痞的钱。胡老头约请哎吆入伙，一路设局骗卡邦。和洽友探长罗宾（泰迪?罗宾 饰）商量后，哎吆决议来个将计就计。
