　　广告公司任职的武德辉（刘德华 饰）与同事厉迟（陈百祥 饰）前往大陆公干，顺便走私出土文物。他们无意中发现了一个秘洞，获得了一本武功秘籍，而且救出了冷冻在岩穴中的元代云萝公主（王祖贤 饰）和侍女小蛮（梅小惠 饰），可是也无意中放出了邪派高手天残（元华 饰）。原本就精通多国说话的公主在 现代社会中如鱼得水，而阿辉与阿迟在两个现代女子的帮助下也别离练成如来神掌与七旋斩，成功地完成了屌丝到大侠的逆袭。但正当二人春风自得的时辰，天残出现了，誓要抢走云萝公主。一次天残追杀到阿迟家中，幸亏他误把阿迟父亲（曹达华 饰）认成大侠龙剑飞才使云萝公主和小蛮成功逃走，可是阿辉和阿迟却被他捉住。在大陆特异功强人士（刘询 饰）的帮助下，阿辉终究练成了如来神掌的最初一式“万佛朝宗”，克服了天残拯救了公主的命运。
