　　大卫（艾丹·奎因 Aidan Quinn 饰）是就职于耶鲁耶稣学院的灵学教授，某日，他收到艾德布鲁克家三兄妹的约请，前往宅邸观察发生在那边的灵异事务。罗伯特（安东尼·安德鲁斯 Anthony Andrews 饰）带人冷淡而疏离，西蒙（Alex Lowe 饰）则恰恰相反，是个热情活跃的年轻人，最使大卫在意的，是最小的妹妹克里斯汀娜（凯特·贝金赛尔 Kate Beckinsale 饰），她的自傲和自力深深的吸引着大卫。
