　　法國導演勒貢偶然間聽到作曲家Etienne Perruchon的交響独唱樂章Dogora，深感震动，始終盼望能將其影象化。直到某日他造訪柬埔寨，被當地的人物與风景所感動，「從來沒有一個國家讓我如此情緒彭湃」：勒貢如是說。一部影象與音樂完善結合的偉高文品於焉誕生。
