　　在未几后的2005年，一种名为“轮滑球”（Rollerball）的新兴竞技活动以其超乎平常的惊险、刺激吸引了公共的留意力，成为一大致育文娱热门。每当赛季到来时，数以万计狂热的观众城市疯狂地为自己支持的队伍下注，然后守在电视前旁观严重的现场转播。但是，在这项活动的背后，却隐藏着黑暗残暴的内幕。
　　轮滑球融合了冰球和马球两种活动项目标特点，以小我技能和团体合作为根本，角逐法则宽松，具有很强的匹敌性。而且在该活动中，摩托车也是角逐器械之一，赛手可以驾驶摩托车做出任何行动，甚至答应一位赛手骑摩托从对方赛手身上碾过，这使轮滑球活动不但仅限于“惊险”、“刺激 ”的范围，而是越发显得暴力、蛮横了——球场上，能够随时会有球员在匹敌中丧命。是以，国际体育团体严酷限制这项活动的展开，使它成为只范围在土耳其、哈萨克斯坦等地的半底下活动，但这类范围并不能约束这项活动的残暴性向更可怕的及至成长。
　　亚利希·帕托威克（让·雷诺）是一位俄国大财阀，他不但具有一支自己的轮滑球队——骑士队，而且还收买了全部轮滑球活动的构造权。为了使这项活动给他带来丰富的利润，野心勃勃的帕托威克对角逐法则和构造形式做了一系列的鼎新，使得轮滑球角逐酷似古罗马的角斗，变得加倍残暴、血腥，从而越发具有吸引力和“观赏性”；同时，在帕托威克的经营下，轮滑球活动的范围也在不竭扩大，列国的职业球队和球员越来越多地加入同盟中，全部角逐的水平也越来越高。
　　在同盟的众多队伍里，帕托威克的骑士队是一支技术高明、所向无敌、神话似的的队伍。在队长乔纳森·克罗斯（克里斯·克莱恩）和灵魂球员马库斯·瑞德里（LL Cool J）、奥罗拉（瑞贝卡·罗米吉-斯塔摩斯）的尽力下，骑士队在同盟赛中获得了无可匹敌的积分，赢得了众多球迷的跟随。但这一切却不能令球队老板欣喜若狂，由于他地点乎的只是球队能否升级、能否给他带来滔滔财源——为了到达这个目标，他可以支出一切价格，包括球员的人命。目击赛场上接连不竭的悲剧和帕托威克的刻毒无情，克罗斯和队友们渐渐感觉良知不安。也许，他们应当做些什么来揭穿这项蛮横活动背后的罪行——虽然这将给他们带来杀身之祸……
